Beijing Day Trips - Great Wall at Shanhaiguan

The Great Wall at Shanhaiguan is a full day trip from Beijing, combined with a visit to the coastal village of Beidaihe or Nandaihe.

Shanhaiguan literally means “where the mountains meet the sea” and this section of the Great Wall does exactly that.

Shanhaiguan Great Wall is the eastern most tip of the Great Wall where it plunges in the Bo Hai Sea.

Although it is a renovated spot of the Great Wall - and therefore also very touristy - we want to include it in our program, because we combine the day trip to Shanhaiguan Great Wall with a visit to Beidaihe or Nandaihe.

Early in the morning we will depart Beijing for the 3 hour drive to Shanhaiguan Great Wall. Once we are there you will have plenty of time to see the surroundings and enjoy the sea breeze.

After that we will go to Beidaihe or Nandaihe for the rest of the day. Both villages thank their existence from being coastal towns and many people from Beijing and Tianjin make it their summer retreat during the weekend.

You can do anything you like, frisbee on the beach, play ball or take a dip in the ocean! For both lunch and dinner we invite you for a sea food galore at one of the many restaurants along the beach.

We can take any number of people on this trip, at any day of the week and people of all ages can join this trip. For your convenience we will pick you up at your hotel.
As Shanhaiguan Great Wall is not next door, we recommend to leave Beijing no later than 7am.

The price per person depends on the number of people, so please contact us for more information or with any of your questions.
