If you don’t have a lot of time, but still want to see the Great Wall at a place that still resembles the Great Wall and not a market overrun by tourists, then the Great Wall at Juyongguan is a great alternative. What makes the Great Wall at Juyongguan interesting is that this section of the Great Wall is a fortress that served as a gate to the wilds beyond the Wall during the Ming Dynasty.
