Beijing Day Trips to Architectural Highlights

As you know Beijing is the hosting city for the 2008 Olympic Games and during the past 7 years there has been a lot going on to prepare the city for this huge event.

Apart from the Olympic Green, the main grounds for the Olympic Games, all kinds of buildings with different functions have been and are being built.

The day trip to the Architectural Highlights will take you on a tour to the following buildings / construction sites:

  • National Theater, designed by French architect Paul Andreu, also called “the Egg”
  • CCTV Headquarters, designed by Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren, also called the “twisted donut”
  • Television Cultural Center, designed by Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren, has the shape of a trapezoidal boot
  • Airport Terminal 3, designed by British-based architectural firm Foster and Partners

A day trip to the Architectural Highlights includes the Olympic Green.
